Texas Girl

We went down to the Valley last weekend so the boys could do some dove hunting. Tuddie thought it was a great idea for Emily to start practicing her shooting skills. The boys helped give Emily a few good pointers, and then she was ready for the range. Both girls practiced proper safety with appropriate eye protection. Unfortunately/fortunately, the boys had about as much luck shooting something as Emily did. There's always next year!

She's My Best Friend

Freddie and GHC are so cute together. They really seem to be getting used to seeing each other on a regular basis. This visit they even decided to hold hands. We're excited to watch them grow up together.

It's Time for Veggie Tales

The weekend finally arrived for us to attend the Veggie Tales show. Emily had no idea what we were talking about when we said we were going. The last time we went was during Hurricane Ike back in 2008. This time she did not fall asleep. She danced in the aisles!

Opening Prayer

Emily was picked by her school's head lady to lead the opening prayer at the first chapel of the school year. Ms. Susan told us that Emily said the cutest thing to her, and so she knew Emily had to be the one to help her lead the prayer. We later found out that Emily saw Ms. Susan in the first week of school and said, "hey! you're the lady who does chapel". That's real nice to say to the principal. They practiced every day before the big Tuesday. Tuddie and Granddaddy happened to be in town. We were set and ready. It became pretty apparent that Emily didn't realize the entire school would be sitting there watching her and Ms. Susan. She basically just stared out into the crowd. We have it on video at least! We were proud of her for making it through. She was such a big girl.

Birthday Party Craziness

Freddie really loved her 1st birthday party. There were LOTS of friends and family there. Once again Freddie proved she was daddy's girl. She gobbled up some cupcake. It helped to have grandmas on both sides to hand feed her lunch before diving in to dessert. We had a great time.
