Emily really enjoyed her first season in soccer. She made a lot of friends. We think she really enjoyed the social aspect of it. She was the youngest one on her team. She did great. We're very proud of her. She is excited to play again.

The Mouse's House
Emily and I took a very special trip together to Disney. We had so much fun. It was a memorable time. It was the first time to go there for both of us. We barely slept because of all the excitement. We were definitely on the go-go-go! We were happy to be back to the rest of our family, but will definitely have to go again. Emily even said she wanted her birthday party there next year. I think we need to have some more conversations about expectations.
We took so many pictures. It would be hard to do one post with all the pictures, videos and stories we had from the trip. These are just a few from my phone.
We took in a lot of parades. Emily loved dancing in the streets. She loved seeing all the lights on the nighttime parades. She really got into seeing all the different Disney characters.

We had a very special night on our first full day at the Magic Kingdom. We were lucky enough to go to Cinderella's castle. I didn't tell Emily until a few hours before we had to leave. She was super excited to have a dress to wear. She was very happy to meet Cinderella, Aurora, Belle, Snow White and Ariel. It was a really lovely evening.

We were treated like royalty for our dinner at the castle.
Since we had such a late dinner reservations, we were finished after the park closed. It was one of the best memories we have from the trip. There weren't any people around. There was no one there to rush us out. It was amazing.

Once you see Main St. full of people when the park is open, it is quite a different experience to have it all for yourself.

As you can tell, we didn't rush out of the park.
This was probably Emily's favorite ride of the whole trip. She liked going high and being able to control when we went up and down. She loved it.
The teacups were also a hit. Emily was very sweet. I told her I couldn't do much spinning (doc's orders) and she was happy to please.
This is probably one of the only decent pictures of the two of us from the trip. We had one day at the Animal Kingdom.
Emily definitely earned her ears while we were there!

Halloween Night
We had fun trick or treating in the neighborhood on Halloween night. There were so many families out and about. We started the night off at P&L's for some yummy pizza. Then the kids quickly dashed us off to get some candy. Big thanks to GHC, K&Q and Jackson for joining us in the fun. We loved all of it!
WAMG Halloween Parade
We had another outstanding turnout for the Halloween parade put on by our neighborhood moms' group. There were multiple stations of treats around the walking track. The weather worked in our favor. We had a potluck dinner which was delicious. Our girls had a lot of fun. It was great practice for Halloween night.
The top pictures were from our very first test run of trick or treating at the zoo. The mosquitoes were so bad we didn't stay long.

Camping
We went on our first family camping trip. We didn't have very high expectations for an easy weekend, but we were quickly proven wrong. Everything was a lot of fun. We didn't have to rough it too much. The girls were great campers and the weather worked out. The only bummer was that we didn't have a real campfire because of the burn ban, but we were probably better off. Freddie might have ended up throwing our tent in the fire. Hopefully all of these photos show a bit of the fun we had.
Our first dinner

A little post dinner relaxation

Our tent was a little tight but cozy

Freddie woke up last both mornings. She was exhausted from all the activity.

Flashlights were a big hit with the girls

Daddy was a trooper to carry Freddie. She only wanted to stay
in her backpack if she had snacks.

He was even strong enough to carry them both!

Emily was an awesome guide.

Mommy needed to stop and rest every now and then.

There were lots of giggles.

The scenery was pretty.

We couldn't exactly leave the "city life" behind.
Camping requires lots of distraction.

Might as well spend idle time being silly.

Thanks to a loaner stroller (thanks again Tripp)
the girls didn't have to walk the whole time.

S'mores are wonderful!

Emily thought we were having brussel sprout cookies. She was
kind of disappointed we ended up with s'mores....until she tried one.
Mmmmmm!!

Our cute girls really did have smiles on most of the weekend.

Our one family picture.

We highly recommend camping! It's a good break from the norm. We made some wonderful memories together as a family of four.

Dustbowl
Emily started soccer a few weeks ago. The team name is the Light Blue Lightning. Emily enjoys going to practice and doing the drills. She really likes the fun game in practice that is like sharks and minnows on land. We don't think she loves the real soccer matches as much. She enjoys the fancy soccer uniform, but actually being near the ball is not quite to her liking. She prefers to sit in the shade, while talking with friends and sipping on cold water. Our goal of the season is for her not to cry and possibly kick the ball once during play. We're crossing our fingers!
