Due Date

If Will had still been in my tummy a week later, I might have had to wear maternity clothes the rest of my life. He made himself nice and cozy.

The Big 5

Emily had a wonderful cupcake filled birthday party. Sadly, I wasn't able to make it because we were still in the hospital with Will, but I heard it turned out great. The weather was a little windy. That made cupcake decorating a little more challenging, but I think the kids were up to the task. Emily loved having her friends come out to celebrate her big day. Special thanks to grandparents who took charge of the party and basically helped us throw the whole thing.

It's a Boy!

William Richard came into the world on March 1st. He weighed 8lbs 7 oz and was 20.5 inches long. He and his cousin Josh share a birthday! What was supposed to be one of my routine weekly visits turned into a quick c-section to get Will out. He had turned once again and was breech. I was so far along and ready to go that my doctor did not want to release me in case I went into labor. I asked if she would attempt to turn him just in case that was a possibility. She obliged, but it didn't work. So we went from a 3:40 doc appointment to a 6:33 baby arrival. It all seems like a blur now. He came out sleep, happy and healthy. That's all we wanted. His sisters are loving on him and wanting to hold him all the time. It has been a relatively smooth transition, but we're sure the mayhem is soon to come. We'll enjoy the newborn days while we can.

Rodeo Season

It is rodeo time here in Houston. We were able to catch the trailriders when they came near our neighborhood. We also checked out the Livestock show on opening day. We had a great time looking at the animals, pretending to be a farmer, riding ponies, riding carnival rides, driving a tractor and eating all our favorite rodeo treats. The girls love getting in the cowboy spirit.
