Meatfest

We had our annual Meatfest celebration. There was a lot of meat to grill. This year we had the most kids we've ever had at meatfest. It made for lots of fun!

Hula Girls

Emily went to her first "girls only" birthday party this weekend. She and her friend were the youngest girls there, but they had a great time. It was a hula themed party. The girls were encouraged to wear their bikinis. Emily thought most of the props were itchy, but she ended up liking the skirt.

65th Birthday

We went down to the Valley to celebrate Freddy's birthday. We had a really great time. The girls played with family all weekend long. We read books, played in the pool and hung out with family. It was an awesome weekend!

Splashway

This past weekend our good friends, P&L, invited us out to their family's home in Sheridan. L's Mom and Dad have a beatiful house they built "out in the country". One of the best attributes about their house is the fact that a really cool waterpark is about 1/2 mile away. We decided to make a trip out there to check out all the hype. It was a blast. Emily loved all of the slides. While we were out there, we also had time to feed the ducks at the neighbor's pond, pig out on some great grilled food and see a beautiful sky of stars. We had a great time. Hopefully we can go back next summer!

Fashionistas

Emily often wants to pick out her own outfits to wear. On one particular day last week, she decided she needed to wear her socks all the way up. It made for quite the fashion statement. Her sister, Freddie, is growing and growing. We often come home to find her in size 2T shorts. The shorts were either really short on Emily, or Freddie is just a "big" girl.

Kiddie Park

We went to San Antonio/Schertz last weekend. The girls were ready for their first ever trip down to Kiddie Park. Emily is the absolute perfect age for the park. Kiddie Park is the oldest kid's park in the U.S. We went there all the time growing up. It is a great memory of childhood. They have since given the place a new coat of paint, but have not changed the decor or rides. Emily was in heaven. Freddie even enjoyed a few of the rides. Of course, one of Emily's favorite rides was the boat. She must take after her mom and Tia. After 2 hours, she finally said she was ready to go. Luckily for us, she had enough energy to go for a ride on the train by the zoo before we headed home. A big thanks to Tia and Josh for making our trip so much fun!

Bedtime Stories

Freddie is almost to the point where she will sit still to read a story. That is making bedtime so much more fun. We can have both girls with us and read them a story. It is a great and perfect way to end the day.
